Regional Training Courses of the UNEP/GEF South China Sea Project

A total on nine regional training courses and workshops will be convened during 2007. The curricula and logistics for these courses were discussed and commented on by the project’s Regional Working Groups, Task Forces, RSTC, and Project Steering Committee during 2006. Several members of the South China Sea Project network have sought clarification regarding the provision of support to participants and the number of participants from each country for a given training course - members are advised to refer to the following FAQs in this regard:

• Provision of Support to Participants - The cost of travel, accommodation, and meals will be met via the GEF project grant for each participant in the regional training courses.
• Number of Participants - It is anticipated that each regional training course will have 3, at most 4, participants per country, i.e., 21-28 participants per course.
